A young entrepreneur who aims high
Upcoming Entrepreneur Deacon Mohale is set to take the fashion industry by storm with his budding clothing brand.
Residing in Itsoseng Informal settlement, Mohale said he could not allow himself to be swallowed by social ills, which tend to destroy lives of informal settlement youth. Out of his passion for fashion clothing, Mohale established Mpintshi Mpontsho brand in 2020. He has released different kind of stylish clothes for females and males including t-shirts, caps, and sneakers.
“ my big dream was always to my own brand,” Mohale said. “I got such inspiration from DJ Sbu and Casper Nyovest. I have been working with one designer to push the Mpintshi Mpontsho brand. I am very thankful to those who are supporting me. I was marketing around Kasi Iwanna become an inspiration most of them are out of the line due to drugs..
The 17-year-old entrepreneur, who is doing grade 11 at St Angers Secondary, said he feels proud when people purchase his products and give him positive remarks. “I strive to get time for both school an business,” he said. In the next five years , the aim is to get some clothing stores in different provinces.”
Despite COVID- 19 having a negative impact on the economy, Mohale said people must not put their heads down and must always think positive.He said that his community is facing tough times at the moment, but he encourages all young people to think outside the box and try something new.
“ I want the best out of my community,” he said. “ I want to inspire the youth and get them off the streets. There is need to develop our informal settlement and we young people are the ones responsible for that.”
Mohale is not only an entrepreneur, but also an upcoming artist. �
