Cosmo Karate Club – Siphiwe

Health consciousness is being championed in vigorously nowadays and people are being called to join in on some kind of sporting event everywhere regardless of their stage in life. Companies are embarking on wellness programmes for their staff and young people are being asked to regulate their intake on junk food and take away food to regulate obesity and other related illnesses.
Siphiwe August started a karate jodo and is asking for all residents who would want to try out that sport to come and join him at the Multipurpose Centre where he runs his Karate club from.
Cosmo Karate club was launched in May 2014 at Cosmo City Multipurpose Complex. The club was established after realizing that there is not enough activities for children after school. It aims to recruit more children and adults within Cosmo City and communities around.
Siphiwe Hope August who is the sensei/instructor has in-depth knowledge of karate and wishes to give back to the community as he was also identified and developed within a black township. Through Karate Sensei August has been on the SA Senior National Team to competed and represented the country (SA) at the international level: Zone 6, All Africa Games, Commonwealth, Africa Cup and World Championships, “There are very few black karatekas and therefore a shortage of those who reach the SA senior national team. I therefore believe, with the experience I have acquired, that I’m going to produce an elite team of karatekas from this community, who will compete at the highest level. Said Siphiwe.
